MEXICO CITY — Amid the fixed blare of automotive horns in southern Mexico City, it’s arduous to think about that Cuicuilco was as soon as the guts of a thriving historic civilization. Yet atop its round pyramid, now surrounded by buildings and a shopping mall, a pre-Hispanic fireplace god was revered.
