A Spanish priest who was going through three years in prison for remarks he made in 2016 that had been essential of radical Islam was acquitted. 

“I thank God and the Christian people who supported me with their prayers and their presence in court,” Father Custodio Ballester advised Fox News Digital in an announcement Monday of his acquittal, which was revealed on Friday. 

Ballester, together with one other priest, Fr. Jesús Calvo, and journalist Armando Robles, confronted a number of years behind bars for alleged hate-speech violations.
