A trio of Austrian octogenarian nuns — who’ve their very own Instagram account with over 78,000 followers — ran away from their nursing residence to get again to their convent.
Sister Rita, 82, Sister Regina, 86, and Sister Bernadette, 88, have been transferred to the house in December 2023 in opposition to their will when church officers closed the convent, named Schloss Goldenstein, because of the lower in vocations to the sisterhood.
“We weren’t asked,” Sister Bernadette instructed the BBC.
“We had the right to stay here until the end of our lives and that was broken … I have been obedient all my life, but it was too much.”
