A 12-year-old West Australian schoolgirl has been left with a devastating eye damage after being swooped by a magpie on her manner house from college – an accident that can now see her withstand 18 months of surgical procedures.

Leschenault mother Nicole Baldwin mentioned her daughter Sam had simply completed college and was strolling throughout an oval within the city of Australind to satisfy her brother when the chook abruptly struck.

“It was just a routine afternoon,” Baldwin advised information.com.au. “She called me about five minutes before I got there and said, ‘Mum, I’ve been swooped, it’s got me in the eye’. She was crying and pretty upset.”
