US plane service strikes into Latin America area amid tensions with Venezuela
The USS Gerald R. Ford plane service moved into Latin American waters Tuesday because the US ramped up its army buildup focusing on drug traffickers working out of Venezuela.
The US Navy’s 4th Fleet didn’t specify the Ford’s location Tuesday, however did verify it was within the US Southern Command’s (SOUTHCOM) space of duty — which incorporates Central America, the waters off Central and South America, and the Caribbean Sea.
