Radar tech mauled to loss of life by polar bears whereas photographing them at Arctic outpost
A Canadian radar technician was mauled to loss of life by a pair of polar bears as he took pictures of them whereas working at a distant Arctic outpost, it emerged this week.
Christopher Best, 34, left the security of the Brevoort Island facility the day after he arrived to work there, in order that he may take pictures of a bear on the grounds, a report into his Aug. 8 loss of life revealed.
He had walked previous an indication warning workers to be looking out for bears — and reassured his anxious dad and mom he was OK once they requested him hours earlier about pictures of the bears he was posting on-line, they advised CTV News
