
‘Siberian Jesus’ sentenced to Russian jail after harming followers in weird cult
A Siberian cult chief who claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus Christ was sentenced to 12 years in a Russian jail camp after his conviction for bodily and financially harming his followers.
Sergei Torop, a former site visitors policeman recognized to his followers as “Vissarion,” which means “he who offers new life,” and two aides used psychological stress to extract cash from his followers and trigger critical hurt to their psychological and bodily well being, Reuters reported.
