South Korea suspects North Korea behind cryptocurrency alternate hack, theft of $30.4M
SEOUL — South Korea suspects a North Korean crew could also be behind the current hacking of cryptocurrency alternate Upbit that led to the unauthorized withdrawal of 44.5 billion received ($30.4 million) in cryptocurrencies, the Yonhap News Agency reported on Friday.
South Korean authorities are inspecting Upbit’s methods and suspect a gaggle of hackers affiliated with North Korea’s spy company, generally known as the Lazarus Group, have been concerned in what the alternate known as “an abnormal withdrawal,” Yonhap mentioned.
