NATO Secretary Gen. Mark Rutte warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday that the alliance was “ready and willing” to tackle Moscow if it assaults — with the European Union shifting ahead with a dangerous plan to make use of $105 billion in frozen Kremlin property to fund Ukraine.

Just a day after Putin warned Europe that Russia was prepared for all out warfare, Rutte fired again throughout his remarks at a NATO international ministers gathering in Brussels.

“NATO is a defensive alliance. We will remain a defensive alliance, but make no mistake, we are ready and willing to do what it takes to protect our 1 billion people and secure our territory,” Rutte mentioned.
