Russia, Iran and China be part of naval drill in South Africa — as tensions with US rise: ‘A pawn in the power games’
Rogue states Russia, Iran and China joined naval drills alongside South Africa Saturday, as tensions mount between a number of international locations within the block of countries and the US.
The week‑lengthy train, which started Friday off the Cape Town coast and is being led by China, comes simply days after the US seized a Russian‑flagged oil tanker north of Europe within the Atlantic Ocean.
China, Russia and South Africa are longtime members of BRICS — the 10-country financial alliance fashioned in 2009 that sees itself as a counterforce to US dominance — whereas Iran joined in 2024.
