A girl in her 50s is believed to have misplaced an arm when a lion mauled her at an Australian zoo Sunday morning, based on authorities and stories.

The terrifying incident unfolded round 8:20 a.m. on the Darling Downs Zoo close to Towoomba in Queensland as the girl — a long-time customer — watched zookeepers caring for the beast, based on the zoo.

“This morning, a much-loved member of our family was watching keepers working in the carnivore precinct,” the zoo stated in a press release.
