A father and son lately stumbled throughout an enormous cache of outdated artillery shells in Czech forest — triggering a two-day operation involving a bomb squad.

The Police of the Czech Republic stated the invention was reported by a 48-year-old father who had gone metallic detecting along with his son on Oct. 28. 

The pair had been lower than 1,000 ft away from the Czech-Polish border crossing in Bartošovice, nestled within the Orlické Mountains.

The father advised officers that he had “found an object resembling ammunition in a forested area,” based on the interpretation of a launch issued on Oct. 31.
