A historic gold ring from the English countryside will go beneath the hammer this month — and consultants imagine it might be linked to one of the notorious conspiracies in British historical past.

The piece of knickknack was uncovered by steel detectorist Andrew Rose, who discovered it six inches within the floor in Bushwood, Warwickshire, about 20 miles southeast of Birmingham.
