
Israeli navy chief opposes Netanyahu’s plan to occupy Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces’ high commander is pushing again towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for full navy management of the Gaza Strip.
During a tense, three-hour assembly Tuesday night time, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir warned the premier that occupying Gaza would solely threaten the lives of the remaining hostages and his troopers, three Israeli officers briefed on the assembly advised Reuters.
Despite pushback from present and former Israeli safety officers, Netanyahu has maintained that navy strain is the one method to free the remaining 50 hostages in Gaza and end Hamas off for good.
