A hunter vanished in Japan close to a latest brown bear sighting — simply 75 miles from a city that declared its first-ever bear emergency, fueling fears he was mauled in a chilling assault.

The unidentified man was reported lacking by a good friend on Mt. Esan, positioned on the northern island of Hokkaido, based on The Guardian.

Bloodstains had been found close by and a rifle, believed to belong to the lacking man, was discovered on the facet of a mountain highway on Tuesday.

Just three days prior, on July 12, an enormous brown bear was noticed close to the identical highway.
