Japan simply took residence first place in Italy for the World Trophy of Professional Tiramisu.
Held in Rome by the International Federation of Pastry, Gelato and Chocolate (FIPGC), the championship noticed pastry execs from across the globe battle for the final word title within the dessert’s homeland. The prime honor went to Aya Okada from Ishikawa, Japan, who wowed judges with a grand piano–formed tiramisu layered with maraschino and black cherries.
Italy’s personal entry—a Sicilian-style tiramisu—got here in second place, whereas Morocco rounded out the highest three.
What’s wild is how symbolic this win feels: Japan mastering Italy’s most iconic dessert on Italian soil. If something, it reveals how international pastry tradition has turn into—the place custom meets reinvention, and perfection is aware of no borders (simply layers of mascarpone and satisfaction).
