A deadly derailment of Lisbon’s Glória Funicular throughout rush hour on Wednesday reportedly took the lives of at the least 15 folks and injured 18. A baby is alleged to be among the many injured.
Fabiana Pavel, president of the Bairro Alto Residents’ Association, is putting blame on “excessive tourism” main as much as the tragic practice incident.
“The use of it in recent years is certainly inappropriate,” he advised BBC News. “It was used too much and the population lost the ability to use it as public transport, because it became a tourist attraction.”
