Nearly 1,000 vacationers had been left stranded in Aguas Calientes, Peru, close to the traditional Machu Picchu website.

Train service was suspended as folks protested towards a brand new bus firm that has been commissioned, Reuters reported. 

The virtually two-week-long protest started when the contract of Consettur, the corporate that runs buses from Aguas Calientes to the citadel, expired.

Protesters argued that the actions round changing the bus firm lacked transparency and equity — with some even putting rocks of “various sizes” on the railway, in response to Reuters. 

Tourism Minister Desilu Leon mentioned 1,400 vacationers had been evacuated on Monday, leaving round 900 folks nonetheless stranded in Aguas Calientes,…
