North Korea on Thursday displayed obvious progress within the development of a nuclear-powered submarine, with state media photographs exhibiting a largely accomplished hull, as chief Kim Jong Un condemned rival South Korea’s push to accumulate the know-how.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency stated Kim visited a shipyard to examine the development of what the North describes as an 8,700-ton-class nuclear-propelled submarine, which the chief has known as an important step within the modernization and nuclear armament of North Korea’s navy.
