
Over 5.2 million swimming pools offered throughout US, Canada recalled for defective function after 9 little one deaths reported
NEW YORK — More than 5.2 million aboveground swimming swimming pools offered throughout the U.S. and Canada over the past 20 years are being recalled after 9 drowning deaths had been reported.
The recall covers a variety of Bestway, Intex Recreation and Polygroup swimming pools that had been offered by main retailers way back to 2002.
According to Monday notices revealed by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, these swimming pools have compression straps working alongside the skin of the product — which “may create a foothold” for young children and permit them to entry the water unattended.
