A well-liked Queensland snake catcher has shared the “freak” second she was bitten by an japanese brown snake in her Sunshine Coast yard.

Mikayla, who works for Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7, was strolling exterior her home “barefoot (mistake number one) and wasn’t watching where I was walking (mistake number two)”, she wrote in a publish on Facebook, alongside video of the second and images of her chunk within the aftermath.

“I was walking when I stood on something, and I felt a sharp pain in my left foot,” Mikayla continued.

“I regarded down and noticed an Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja Textillis) rapidly slither away (proof that snakes simply need to escape).
