MADRID — Pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted the ultimate stage of the Spanish Vuelta and compelled organizers to chop the race brief on Sunday.

There had been clashes between police and protesters close to the route finale in Madrid. Some protesters carrying anti-Israel banners partly blocked the street and compelled riders to cease.

The podium ceremony was known as off due to safety considerations.
