
UK college scholar dies by suicide 3 months after mistakenly being instructed he wouldn’t graduate on time
A Scottish college scholar took his personal life simply three months after his faculty mistakenly reported that he didn’t have sufficient credit to graduate on time – and now his household is trying to make sure different struggling college students don’t slip by the cracks.
Ethan Brown, a 23-year-old geography main on the University of Glasgow in Scotland, killed himself on Dec. 13, 2024 — the day he was imagined to graduate with honors.
Months earlier, in September 2024, the college “wrongly informed him that he did not have the necessary credits to graduate,” the University of Glasgow wrote in a press release obtained by People.
