US units new deadline for Europe-led NATO protection that leaves officers divided
WASHINGTON, Dec 5 (Reuters) – The United States needs Europe to take over the vast majority of NATO’s typical protection capabilities, from intelligence to missiles, by 2027, Pentagon officers advised diplomats in Washington this week, a decent deadline that struck some European officers as unrealistic.
